【UASB Effluent Treatment Technology with Sludge Granules】

　　UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket) is a high-efficient anaerobic effluent treatment technology that has been developed in the last years, whose results have been very greatly improved by introducing the sludge granules. And this technology with sludge granules is a joint development of high and new technology between our institute and <span times="" new="" roman";mso-hansi-font-family:""="" style="font-family: 宋体">住友 on the basis of which, our institute has accomplished the manufacture of the corollary equipment in this country as well as the culture and breeding of bacteria seeds of the sludge granules.
　　This technology finds application in various industries on commercial basis as follows:
　　（1）Fermentation and brewage to turn out alcohol, beer, goutmet powder, yeast and lemon acid;
　　（2）Starch factory;
　　（3）Sugar mill;
　　（4）Papermaking and pulp;
　　（5）Food processing, including the slaughter house;
　　（6）Synthetic chemical engineering to turn formadehyde, acetadehyde, propyl alcohol, glycerine, amino-alcohol and ethylacetate;
　　（7）Pharmaceutical manufacturing factory, where the high-concentration organic effluent is generated for production of penicillin.

　　This technology has succeeded in effluent treatment in Japanese-solely-funded business Calbee food processing factory in the development zone of shenyang, whose test targets are all up to the State Emission Standard, and which is characterized by the following:

　　u              COD_cr removal rate is up to over 90%, and in case it is combined with the aerobic technology, the quality of the discharged water can be up to the emission standard as stipulated by the State Environmental Protection Bureau;
u              The COD_cr loading rate of the high-efficient granular sludge can be up to 15-20kg/m ³.d and resist greater impact from the load variations, which can remain in very high activeness even if it is out of use for a long time;
u              About 70 to 80% methane gas as generated can convert the pollutants into methane and release it;
u              The diameter of the sludge granules is about 2 to 3 mm at high density and good precipitability, which can thoroughly eliminate the silky bloating phenomen on of sludge;
u              The output of sludge is greatly reduced so that the equipment investment and operating costs are lowered. And therefore the operating costs and the land coverage are only 1/4 of the conventional method.
